Machine (Honda) coming to a track near you!

Author : cmunroe

I will be honest. The only thing more fascinating than watching a project being built, is seeing the completed project. I am fully aware that the sane side of my brain was deliberately erased, but I am ok with that! I have learnt to accept the imperfect being I am and I remain grateful for life’s glorious opportunities! So says the mad man!

It is still incomprehensible, but I have thrown in the shameful towel which confirms the spineless act – surrender. What is it about a machine on jack stands – with all of its comfort-delivering amenities discarded, being pounded mercilessly and torched by ‘body-men’ and self- styled fabricators – which forces us to wring our palms in nervous anticipation.

Like school children awaiting summer, we pine for the earth-shattering sound we expect to emanate from the potent crate-motor. We are fully aware that not much has changed since our last visit to the garage – yesterday – but we still show up, early, with huge expectations. Will the machine ‘fire- up’ today? Possibly not. Possibly not for the next 2-5 years! But we wait.

Yes we may be somewhat deranged but we accept who we are and we love project machines! In today’s edition I am elated to report that a machine that I am more than familiar with, is approaching the start- finish straight. The gentleman with responsibility for preparing my Class-winning AE86 ( yes- we won our class), acquired an ex-Dover machine which was in an emaciated state and launched a program – Resurrection!

The process usually requires more patience than those seen by a Doctor at KPH (keep the correction) but, fortunately, the machine is gingerly making it’s way to the Start- line. So, you heard it here first and the snaps (pics) will confirm – a Honda Civic EG will destroy a track very soon!!!

Save me please!

I need attention!

This is more like it – finally a little TLC!

I cannot complain.

Five star suite for the B18 beast which will reside here!

Love the progress!

What are you building?
